The history spanning the foundation of the acting studio to the establishment of today’s Institute for the Performing Arts and Film at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) is not simply a chronicle of 75 years of training actors in Zurich: it is also an integral part of the city's history.

The publication is a historical documentation, with numerous images and interesting facts illustrating the various stages along the way and introducing the key personalities in the institute's history. The work contains a large number of newspaper articles from different phases in the development of the acting school, and a photo essay gives readers insight into everyday life in today's institute for theatre, dance and film.
