Glossy doors made of olive wood, a rough slate floor and an unconventional staircase dominate the atmosphere in the centre of the office building ‘Picassohaus’ in Basel.
The signs for the entrance and the conference rooms are letters cut from olive wood and affixed directly to the varnished doors. The letters become visible through the contrasting grains in the wood.
In the interior, the building’s levels are indicated with large, ornamental numbers made of chipboard covered with a high gloss paint. The numbers discretely call attention to themselves through their polished surface and unfinished edges.
